  • Patrick K. Skipton, DVM

    Owner / Veterinarian

I can’t think of a better place to be a veterinarian and raise a family then Damascus. Since coming to Damascus in 1985, I have worked with thousands of clients and their animals. From dogs and cats to cows and goats, and I have loved every minute of it. Growing up in Maryland I knew I wanted to become a veterinarian from a very young age. I earned my undergraduate degree at the University of Maryland. I subsequently obtained my veterinary degree at the University of Florida in 1982. My wife, Maria, and I have three children all grown now. They went to schools in Damascus, worked at Woodfield Veterinary Clinic, and participated in community sports and 4-H clubs.

Our goal at Woodfield Veterinary Clinic is to help people keep their pets and animals well and give them excellent care when they are sick. I enjoy working with and mentoring young people interested in veterinary medicine. I am also involved in community activities such as schools, sports, 4-H clubs, the Damascus Community Fair, and the Montgomery County Agricultural Fair. When not at the office I enjoy sports and gardening. Woodfield Veterinary Clinic allows me to do what I love, practice veterinary medicine and help people.

  • Erin H. Spelman, DVM

    Veterinarian

For as long as I can remember I have wanted to be a veterinarian. Most of my growing up years were spent in Tennessee. I completed my undergraduate studies at Berry College in Rome, Georgia. I then attended the University Of Tennessee College Of Veterinary Medicine and graduated in 2000. My husband Paul and I have twin boys, Jeremy and Billy, and a daughter, Janie. Our three furry children are cats, Camo and Marvin, and Skippy the dog. I enjoy seeing the variety of animals that come into our clinic. I believe that each animal is unique and sometimes requires unique solutions for their medical problems and care. While most of my classmates are on their second and third practice, I have been at Woodfield Veterinary Clinic since my graduation. That is entirely due to the people I work with and the family atmosphere that is present here. My hobbies are my children, reading and gardening.
